ABOUT

CJ Thomas is a composer, producer, and arranger of original instrumental music and music for media. He grew up in the small western town of Carson City, NV, surrounded by sagebrush and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He currently resides in San Diego, CA, and enjoys being a husband and father outside of his work life. 

As a composer, CJ uses music to enhance the story and evoke emotional responses in films, commercials, documentaries, and projects for artists/producers. He commonly composes and arranges for string ensembles, orchestra, and more hybrid instrumentation incorporating synthesizers, piano, and electronic production techniques. 

In addition to music composition, he is a commercial filmmaker, leading branded content productions as a producer, director, and owner of Wondertree Media. His unique perspective as a director and producer informs his approach to projects, always prioritizing the story and emotional impact. 

CJ releases his own original works, including “Landscapes” (2025) featuring a string quartet with the Scottish Session Orchestra, "Fractures" (2023), featuring a string quartet and ambient electronic elements, and the solo piano album "Rebuilding" (2022).
